David Sowerby – B.Com. C.A.
Finance Director

David joined the company in 2004 and has had a close contact with the business through his father Ian Sowerby. After completing a Bachelor of Commerce at The University of Melbourne, David has gained local and international experience in financial accounting, business development and corporate finance. David can work closely with customers in providing budgeting services, feasibility studies and property development business plan writing. David can work with valuers, property agents and our construction managers to assist the client in establishing the viability of any proposed ventures.

David can assist the client in investigating and acquiring financial solutions through private capital,  joint venture vehicles, third party debt funding or other financial arrangements.

Construction Manager

David joined Sure Constructions in 1994 and has over 20 years construction experience in both local government and private industry. David’s expertise includes residential subdivisions, road rehabilitation and construction.

David’s previous experience in working with local council and state departments ensures the client has an experienced interface with authorities. David’s commitment to excellence and extensive construction management experience ensures that projects are delivered on time and on budget. It ensures a quality that meets or exceeds terms specified within the contract and client expectations.

Managing Director

Ian was appointed General Manager of the Sure Group of companies in 1981. He acquired the civil construction side of the company in 1983 and has since developed the business to where it stands today.

Ian continues to take a hands-on approach to the construction side of the business and has a very client oriented approach from the beginning to the end of a project. Our clients gain access to a wealth of civil construction knowledge and experience through working with Ian. His contacts through the local area, the Victorian region and the industry in general allow the company to build a project development team that best suits the client’s circumstances and provides the best possible outcome.

Ian is also the current President of the Civil Construction Federation, Victorian Branch.

MARK STEGALL B.Eng B.Com
Associate Director

Mark began working at Sure Constructions in 2005 as a Project Engineer providing project management expertise on a wide range of jobs. He has since taken assumed greater responsibility within the organisation as Associate Director.

Mark’s previous experience includes working with major civil works companies such as John Holland and Transfield and on diverse ventures including the Eastern Rail Project and City Link. He also brings a high level of technical knowledge of the most up-to-date survey and other equipment to Sure Construction, providing another level of expertise.

DENISE RIGGIO
Office Manager

Denise joined Sure Constructions in 2006 bringing both administrative and book keeping skills gained over many years. Having worked previously in both the banking sector and the offices of private companies in both Melbourne and the local area, Denise has broad experience in office management and will be able to assist with all enquiries.
