Sure Constructions is a registered R2 Contractor with
VicRoads. To attain this qualification we required an extensive
assessment of the company’s Integrated Management System to be
undertaken and approved by VicRoads prior to receiving qualification
status.
Sure
Constructions is also a member of the Civil road and Contractors
Federation. David Muir is a committee member of the Gippsland Branch of
the CCF.
Sub Contractors and Suppliers
Most
projects require the use of subcontractors at some level. Through the
application of our Integrated Management System, all sub contractors
are inducted and issued with a booklet detailing safe working practices
and as a guide to the creation of a safe, healthy working environment.
The booklet also provides the process for dealing with both minor and
major accidents should they occur on site.
The management of subcontractors will take place in accordance with our Integrated Management System.
Integrated Management System
Sure
Constructions operates under a fully Integrated Management System that
encompasses all components of Quality Assurance, Environment management
and Occupational Health and Safety. This system is regularly audited by
DLIQ Certification Services to ensure it complies with the CCF Civil
Construction Management Code 2001. The most recent audit was carried
out in March 2003.
Quality Assurance
Sure
Constructions Pty Ltd operates under a JASNZ Certified quality system
that is fully compliant with International Quality Standard ISO 9002.
This enables us to assure our clients that the quality of our services
will meet or exceed their expectations. Through appropriate quality
planning and quality control, together with our focus on continuous
quality improvement, we are able to achieve our corporate goals of
providing all our clients with professionalism and value for money.
On
the request of our client we would prepare a site specific project
management plan. This specifically caters for all quality aspects
through Inspection and test plans (ITP’s) and Works Instructions.
The ITP’s will cover the principal activities such as earthworks, subbase, base, kerb and channel etc.
Our
procedures in the IMS set down specifically how we manage our works.
Our quality system has been used under numerous VicRoads contracts.
VicRoads have completed external audits of our compliance with
successful outcomes on all occasions.

Environmental Management
Sure
Constructions operates a fully certified Environment Management System
that meets the requirements of ISO 14001 which is part of our company’s
IMS. Procedures have been created that address all areas of
environmental management as part of any project that is being
undertaken. A risk assessment is completed and reviewed with the
client.
Occupational Health and Safety
Sure
Constructions is committed to providing safe and healthy workplaces and
to ensuring that its activities are not harmful to company personnel,
clients or other visitors to the various premises and sites that we
occupy.
We have in
place a formal occupational health and safety system, (part of our
overall IMS) incorporating an on-going process of developing and
implementing appropriate OH&S principles and procedures. We
encourage the formation of OH&S workgroups in each workplace and we
facilitate the operation of them together with the election and
training of workplace representatives.
Sure
Constructions has a very good record with health and safety. However
we recognise that this requires on-going vigilance, with continued
awareness of potential hazards to maintain our objective of providing
safe and healthy workplaces for all. Risk assessments with regular
hazard reviews are implemented. Working examples are available on
request.
